This book was an amazing ride. I was turning the pages to find out what happened next. This story does have content with alcoholism please be aware. The House Across the Lake is a good mystery with a surprising twist. This book had me hooked to the characters that Sager created. Highly recommend.

There were 5 children who participated in Story Hour this week. It was kind of wild. We read a story from Gossie & Friends Big Book of Adventures by Olivier Dunrea about rain boots. We made floating cork boats which we sailed using wind we created with a paper fan made last week.

found this story to be anticlimactic. I enjoyed the first 2/3 of the story. I felt the ending was thrown together almost like the author didn’t know where she was going with the story and just wrote what came to her right at the end.

We had a good turn out this week of 5 children for story hour. We made paper fans and tried making feathers move by moving air with the fans. Also we tossed feathers in the air and tried to catch them with the fans. Fun.
